7000 Grafts

In this success story, we highlight a local patient from Miami with advanced hair loss who came to American Mane looking for fuller coverage in both the frontal area and the crown. The patient was classified as a Norwood Scale 5, meaning the hair loss pattern involved significant recession in the hairline and thinning through the crown.

Because of the size of the area being treated, our team performed a Mega Session with 7000 grafts across two procedures in two consecutive days. This approach allowed us to maximize coverage while carefully planning density, direction, and long-term natural results.

Method Used: We used the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) method with Sapphire blade implantation. This technique allows for precise graft placement and natural-looking density, especially in cases that require a large number of grafts and detailed planning across multiple areas of the scalp.

Two-Day Procedure Plan: On the first day, our team focused on extracting 4000 grafts and proceeded with implantation to begin rebuilding density in the frontal area and hairline. On the second day, we extracted the remaining grafts and focused on completing the treatment plan by filling in the crown area.

Treatment Area: A total of 3900 grafts were placed in the hairline and frontal area to rebuild the frame of the face and create stronger density in the front. The remaining 3100 grafts were placed in the crown to improve coverage and reduce the appearance of thinning.

Post-Procedure Support: One month after the procedure, the patient began PRP sessions to support the healing process and encourage stronger hair growth during the recovery timeline.

Progress Timeframe: The patient’s results were documented over 8 months, showing significant improvement in overall coverage, density, and hair growth. The main goal in this case was to restore a natural-looking hairline while also addressing crown thinning in one complete treatment plan. Since Norwood 5 cases require careful graft distribution, our team focused on creating a balance between the front and crown to achieve a fuller but still realistic result.
